Notes from ADF meeting 10/6/91.

The meeting started at 11:00 at Bev's house. Present were Georgeanna, Bev, Sharon, Greg and Skip. Goergeanna told us that she had been asked to write a letter for NMG on the deferences between ADF and the craft, specifically on whether there would be a conflict of interest between being Senior Druid and High Priestess at the same time. We discussed the deferences and brought up points that should be included.

Next was a discussion on the First Circle Vigil. Georgeanna and I both felt had more should be done as far as guidelines for the senior people helping and with a Ritual to be done after it's completed in the morning. Also some time should be set aside for the people going through it to discuss their thoughts and experiences with the senior people. We plan on devoting one or two meetings to writing the guidelines and Ritual before Wellspring, and getting them to the Board. One proposal that came from this discussion was that some time should be set aside at Wellspring for a discussion among the Senior Druids about Ritual design and planning. I'll write to JR and pass it on to him.

We then talked about using more people in our Rituals. In keeping with this, our party for Samhain will be a costume party with all the costumes based on "The Hobbit" or "The Lord Of The Rings" series. Then we will incorporate the costumes into our Ritual. We plan on emphasizing the 3 worlds more, and using the Ancestors as part of a central theme. The next meeting will be 10/19/91 at 7:00 at our house to write the Ritual.

We plan to do three workshops at the Samhain party.

1) Georgeanna will lead a discussion on how we are creating Sacred Space as a Grove, and how it differs from Sacred Space created within a Circle. 2)Bev will lead a Guided Meditation to The Plains Of Oghma to get in touch with the Ancestors and to find a spirit helper for the Ritual. 3)Georgeanna will lead a Diviners circle after the ritual to allow other participants a chance to see what omens come through.

A question was brought up by Greg on what the purpose of the local Grove was. Answers that came out were, to generate a sense of community, to set up the foundations for training a Priesthood, to spread the word about alternatives to the mainstream religions, to give a place to worship with other people, and for greater fellowship. We need to write up a letter describing the Grove and it's purposes.
A 50 50 raffle will be held next party instead of asking for donations.
