| Muin Mound Grove Spring Equinox
Business Meeting 2004 - 3/20/04
Attending: Skip, Sharon, Kia, Dennis, Sharmen, Jen, Deb Start - 3:27 ## Old Business - Weighted voting Skip mentioned that ADF may be changing the method of weighted voting based on the results of a referendum of the full membership. This change may affect voting both on the International and Local level. Kia explained both sides of the issue. Dennis summed up by stating that weighted voting lends to stability and preserves the grove's direction. Capping allows healthy change. Discussed the upcoming policy change for buying back votes in ADF. The old policy was you could buy all the years from when you initially joined. The new policy is you can only buy back the votes for the years you were a member, not the years that you were lapsed. - Animal Shelters/Food Bank Kia has been playing phone tag with the SPCA. She will have more information once she gets in touch with them. The issue of the SPCA and euthanasia was discussed. The concensus with the members present is that euthanasia is not someting that should keep us from donating to a particular organization. Food Banks also accept toiletries. This may be something we should try to focus on. ## New Business - Muin Mound Madness Need to start advertising and get flyers made very soon. Kia will make sure the ADF site gets updated with this year's dates and information. Sharon made a motion to ask Ian and Sue (Awen) to perform again. Kia made motion that we set aside $200 again to pay Ian and Sue. Skip seconded. Motion carried. Kia will be in charge of coordinating all of the organizers. We need organizers for Workshop, Advertising, Volunteers, Grounds, and Vendors Consensus is that we should not charge a vending fee above the camping fee. Kia will contact the vendors on the list from PPD. Skip will be in charge of Grounds. The website needs to be updated to include more information. Make sure to emphasize the inclusiveness of the festival. It's not just for Druids! Dennis has been volunteered to be the stag for the Stag Hunt this year since he was the top hound last year and may have a resistence to poison ivy. Dennis also volunteered to help with the advertising in the Rochester area. The topic of the festival is "The Sharing of the Waters". Need to advertise that everyone needs to bring waters from their home. Skip will ask Ian and Sue to bring their caldron and maybe have Ian do his caldron workshop. Jen has access to software to design flyers. Kia will send her the information to start designing. Kia made a motion to designate funds to buy 24 tiki torches. Deb will let us know when the prices are lowest. She asks that everyone save their Michaels coupons. Kia asked that everyone pass any ads or flyers through her before posting. Also, only ppl assigned to jobs should be performing those jobs. This will prevent redundancy and inacuracies. - Workshops and Study Groups Kia suggested we have discussions of these things on the email list. - Work Parties Skip gave Kia dates that are not good for work parties. We can have further discussion on the email list. - Pagan Pride Day Should the grove be an active participant in this year's PPD? The consensus is that we should be involved. Even if we don't have a vendor table, we should have an information table. Deb will be there selling stained glasss and is willing to share space for an information table. The tentative date is Sept 18th. Skip suggested we meet the week before and practice the ritual before PPD. Phoenix mentioned making sure we have cool props! Dennis suggested a workshop on "What is Druidy?" Perhaps the workshop can be scheduled right before the ritual. End - 5:26
