Notes from ADF meeting 9/8/91.

The meeting started at 11:00 at our house. Present were Georgeanna, Bev, Sharon, and Skip. Main purpose of the meeting was to write the Ritual for Mabon.

We talked about the Corn Dolly and it's significance at this time. Jennifer agreed to make one for the Ritual. We need to remind people to bring things of harvest. John has asked to do a part so we'll give him the part for the Outdwellers.

I need to set up and position before the Ritual the altar, belie, stone and fire. The three circles will be set up the same as at Ian and Sue's ceremony at Opening Inner Doorways.

For the starting and consecration of the fire, everyone will be given long fireplace matches to use to help us. The historical precedent is the time of harvest. We need to return the harvest to the land. Georgeanna will do the historical precedent.

For the naming of the Dieties, I'll do Manannon and Georgeanna will do the Morrigan and the Cailleach Bhure (grandmother, grey faced hag).
Triads will be done by Sharon & Skip (Dieties), Lila & John (Ancestors), and Jennifer & Eric (Nature Spirits). We need to get a volunteer to asperge the people as they enter with incense and water.

Georgeanna will do the Gatekeeper Call and Bev will be Trance Druid again.

The three circles will be outlined first in white corn meal, then in blue corn meal. The center circle will be divided into three sections, with offerings in each. The offerings will be apples and nuts gathered during the day.

After the symbolism of returning an offering to the land is explained, the three couples that did the Triads will pick up their baskets and stand in the center facing out. The rest of the people will get the offerings they brought, then start a spiraling dance around the center, ending with them placing the offerings into one of the baskets.

An offering of oil and apples is given to the fire. The rest of the offerings are returned to the woods after the Ritual is completed.

Georgeanna then seeks the omen by the well.

The Trance Druid then recenters everyone for the return flow. The offering of ale and water is passed around the circle.

The Triads are thanked as is the Gatekeeper. Then the Trance Druid grounds everyone and reverses the Grove meditation. The recessional will be "Walk With Wisdom".
