Muin Mound Grove Meeting Minutes - Spring Equinox 2005

Date: 3-19-2005
Meeting Opened: 3:22pm
Attendees: Jenn, Sharon, Skip, Willow, Kia, Dennis, Phoenix

## Old Business
- Tables:
- Skip and Sharon found small tables for $7ea at K-Mart
- discussed covering them with cloth or colored plastic tables
cloths
- can apply poly to the wood to protect them
- Kia would like to make cloths to match the altar cloth
- Should find clear plastic covers to protect the cloths
VOTE: Purchase a roll of clear plastic to cover the altar cloth
and small table cloths. Motion made by Kia, Seconded by
Skip. 6-0. Approved.

- Altar Cloth Graphics:
- Kia would like to purchase special transfer paper (carbon
paper for cloth). Skip found online for $13.25
VOTE: Purchase transfer paper. Kia/Skip. 6-0 Approved.

- Cauldron Update:
- Haven't found suitable one yet within budget. Everyone is
still looking

- Pagan Pride Day
- Kia would like to ask if PPD needs a pavillion. We could lend
the grove's and use it as a $50 donation to the event.
Approved by consensus.
- Kia had some ideas for the kindred praise offerings. One
person can sing a short song for the kindred, then
all participants sing "Thank you for _______".
- Kia would like to make an 18" viking longboat, painted with
parafin so that it will burn well and use it as an
offering to the ancestors
- Can use bird seed as a Nature Spirit offering. Will need a
couple 10lb bags and 3 vessels to distribute it
- Shining Ones - a large bottle of good whiskey enhaned with
100% ethanol in an appropriate vessel will make an
impressive offering. Need to practice using similarly
burning, but less expensive materials.
- The Omen should be geared towards the general pagan community
- May need a person to be prop master (sacrificer?)
- Can use the bowels from the seed for the return flow - wipe
them out with towels quickly.
- Need a list of chants, make a list and use them in rituals
until PPD. Also practice at Friday meetings.
- Tabbards - ppl may want to take them home to work on them.
Kia can make a few belts with what she has already.

## New Business
- There will be a work part the Sunday after Beltaine. Grove members
can stay over night after the ritual. Need to take care of
dead trees and branches around the Nemeton and replenish the
wood pile.
- We will need a couple more work parties to fix up the Nemeton after
the ground dries.

- Kia appointed Phoenix Grove Bard.

- Discussed possibility of moving the Children's Ritual and what to do
about pre-ritual briefing. Best time still seems to be between
meeting and main ritual. The children's ritual + Friday
meetings should be plenty of review for Grove Mmebers. We can
designate someone to brief newcomers as needed.

- Timline for Beltaine:
12pm - lunch
1pm - make head wreaths (yes, the men too!)
2-4pm Business Meeting
4pm - Maypole preparations and dance
Children's Ritual and Main Ritual to follow.

Meeting Closed: 4:49pm
