Imbolc 2004 Omens

We were in the middle of another bad snowstorm, bad enough that we
celebrated near the house under the cover of the deck roof. Part of the main
offering / magical working was to sacrifice candles we had inscribed with
our thoughts / wishes for the coming season to Brigit. For that section we
went out to our portable fire pit under the sky. As soon as the candles were
put into the fire, the moon broke through the storm and a circle in the
clouds opened above us around the moon. It lasted until the candles had
burned down and we went back under cover of the roof, then closed over again
in the snow. I took that as a sign that the offerings were received and that
the wishes will be granted.
